This masterpiece of Brazilian TV advertising is listed among the world’s 100 best TV commercials in Bernice Kanner’s book. It’s a classic that should be watched from time to time both to be inspired by its creativity and to be reminded of it’s relevant message. Follow along with my translation right below the video.

O, I got it!… yesterday I was a little confused by Google’s header celebrating Sesame Street’s 40th birthday with Big Bird, because the actual anniversary is on the 10th. Today I got it. What a surprise it was on Friday, when we learned that Andre Valadao, our beloved friend from Brazil, would come to Atlanta in a quick visit to minister in the Videira Church of our friend Pastor Napolean. Even though we got there near the end of the service, we were able to enjoy a blessed worship moment.
See, today is my birthday. I always experience mixed emotions on this date. I’m happy for one more year close to the greatest gifts from God in my life – Cris and our little David – but I’m also sad for one more year far away from my family and friends from Brazil. See, but God knows what goes inside our hearts and he orchestrated this unexpected visit as part of the wonderful birthday gifts he gave me throughout these days.
Andre didn’t know, but to meet him again was as if I was meeting all those I love in Brazil. To hug him was as if I was hugging my brothers, sisters, nephews, and friends. It’s always like this when we meet people from our homeland. I guess it’s always like this for immigrants. Surely it was also a great pleasure to meet again a dear friend. For those who don’t know and won’t believe I say it anyway :0) AV and I have shared the mic in the El Shamah choir from Lagoinha Baptist Church. I remember many presentations, rehearsals, trips and great conversations. Well, all this is to say that family and friends are gifts from heaven. And I love my family and my friends.

Bem, eu já havia apresentado o Charlie Hall pra vocês neste post da “Center”. Aqui vai mais uma dele que é linda. Por ser bem poética ela dificultou um pouco a tradução… mas fica aí o desafio para vocês estudarem a letra e mergulhar na mensagem.
Transcrevo abaixo a introdução que ele faz antes da música:
